Don't think of me

You told me not to think of you

and here I am, in the early hours

of the morning, doing just that!

Back into my own world, my niche

with Poetry My Friend. Like a pet,

she keeps me company, without

demanding anything from me!

Perhaps this is the way it should

really be when wanting the physical

presence of fellow life travelers. Each

one too, like you, needs space to do

what they have to do and must do!

I must confess that it is hard for me

not to think of you, even though I know

that I should! For you have come to me

like sunshine after another night when

only the stars and the moon gave me

light... like in a tunnel.  My heart was

heavy with solitude. My sun had deemed

in a sunset after a beautiful day. This time,

I did not expect this sun's warm rays

to shine again for me! So how can I not think

of you when I am full of gratitude and love

to be with you! Let's compromise. I will think

of you whenever I want, but you shall have

the freedom to continue to sleep and have

your time when I am not there: closed in

my own space with a ready flame by my side

to be lit up whenever we meet again!
